Category <-> Keyword suggestions

May 23rd, 2006

to be released in one of the future Pro versions

Similar to the keyword suggesting feature, there will be a feature added that will suggest categories using the keywords as a base (an enhancement to the already present category suggesting feature that should work a bit better). The opposite would then also be possible, i.e. suggesting keywords by taking the categories as a base.

Thesaurus

May 18th, 2006

to be released in ImageManager Pro v0.6.0

I have found a Thesaurus whose license allows me to use it in the ImageManager as well. So in version 0.6.0 I will be adding two features involving the Thesaurus. One is just a displaying of the Thesaurus information, such as synonyms, etc. The second will be a combination of the Thesaurus with the “Keyword suggestion” already present in v0.5.0 including the synonyms into the keyword suggestions as well.

Suggest keywords feature

May 5th, 2006

to be released in ImageManager Pro v0.5.0

The way this will work is that you have to add a few keywords (2-10) first and then let the ImageManager suggest similar keywords. This works similar to a thesaurus, only that it uses keywords used in other images as a base for recommending additional keywords.

ImageManager freezes

April 12th, 2006

Fixed in v0.4.0

Bug occurs on both Basic and Pro v0.3.2 and later

In some cases searching for categories on new images can result in the ImageManager freezing. It can then only be closed via the Task Manager. I have found the problem and it will be fixed for the next versions. Currently the workaround to this problem is to not search for categories when adding new images. Just add in and search for the categories once the images have been added to the main list. That will work fine.

Quicker startup times

April 10th, 2006

to be released in ImageManager Pro v0.4.0

I just made a few adjustments to the startup process and was able to make it around 10 times faster than it currently is. This will be especially noticeable in larger portfolios as that loading of the database images has been optimized.

Updating all views/downloads

April 10th, 2006

Fixed in v0.4.0

Bug present on ImageManager Pro v0.3.3

Updating all views/downloads results in new images being removed from the list. These new files are NOT deleted. Restarting the ImageManager will restore them to the list. This bug will be fixed in the next version.

Upload Progress

March 8th, 2006

to be released in version: 0.3.2, both Basic and Pro

I have found a way to track the number of bytes already uploaded from an image. This will allow me to add a display option to show what percentage of the image currently being uploaded has already been uploaded.

New Filter options

March 4th, 2006

to be released in version 0.5.0 Pro version only

The filtering is being completely reworked. It will allow a much more flexible filtering and will allow for different conditions to be combined with AND and OR clauses. The filters will no longer be edited right on the page, but have a separate dialog. To still make access to filters fast, it will be possible to save filters to a file and choose a filter from a combobox for quick filtering.

New UBB Editor

March 3rd, 2006

to be released in version: 0.3.2 only Pro

Those of you who have used Matt Scherf’s new tool Son of the rUBBerizer will really like this. As he gave permission for me to copy the functionality of his tool and incorporate it into the ImageManager. So you can look forward to easier Description editing for your images.
